I think therefore Ident

Ooooh, hilarious blog titles, everyone seems to be thinking up more and more these days.

Anyway, Ident's been finished for a while now, I'm quite pleased with it, but it wont upload onto youtube for some reason.

Music by Book Club used flash to draw out all the dances and backgrounds and after effects for the camera movement, think if I had more time to do it I'd definatly work something out to make the camera moves better, but I'm no great shakes at AE, might have tried to get some kinetic typography involved.

Finished work

So heres the concept art and a couple of pages from the Storyboard we had to make for a short peice of a cartoon 'Ranger Ricks Adventures'. I've never particularly liked making up storyboards but this didn't seem to bad, also I've never really been interested in drawing animal characters before this course and now I've had 2 projects on them, its not made me steer clear of them, but hasn't particularly made me think to use them more.

So I finally finished my lip sync project having put it off for a few days as trying to lip sync while listening to music is impossible, and I have begun to rely on listening to music whenever I do anything. Don't think it turned out too bad, might fiddle around a bit with the chinchillas mouth if I have time before Friday but at the moment I really want to focus on this Ident as its due in next week and I'm getting pretty nervous about whether I'll be able to finish it by then.

Animatics

Ok so my last blog pretty much ran me dry on animations I've been watching recently, all except this little time-lapse of a comic I've been reading for some time, Daisy Owl.

I love reading comics, webcomics, manga's, anything really, just bought a box of 100 marvel postcards which I'm so excited about, but whats great about webcomics is the fact that if you keep regularly following them, they upload so many Live broadcasts of them drawing and talking about the comics, which I love to watch and learn how other people sketch/draw.

And obviously you get to read the comic before anyone else :D

So for this Ident thing I've finally finished off the animatic after being sent a song by a band back in my hometown of High Wycombe called Book Club, who have given me permission to use their song 'Centuries' and it's pretty much right on the money music wise for my animation.

Its only got rough character designs in but the colour/timings of the squares zooming out is how I want it, just the tweens were making things awkward and I wanted to just get the timings out so I didn't bother doing the zooms just yet. Also the 'pulsing' effect that I want on the glowing walls I think I'm going to do on After Effects so thats not in yet either.

Room Done, Starting the Lip Sync

So finally I've finished my CGI room, its taken me a while, but I've never really sat down and wored on it for a long period of time so I have no idea even roughly, how long its taken me.

Also I've finally drawn out all the characters for the Lip sync, theres another chinchilla going to get involved which I've drawn aswell but I havnt added her layers onto the timeline yet, just giving you an Idea what I'm working on.

Also, I've stumbled across a few cool animations recently, heres a few of my favourates.
